Bost group equipment is built for underground hard-rock mining — gold, nickel, copper and similar hard-rock operations — as well as a smaller surface mining bucket range.

Our products feature on sites across Australia and the rest of the world, but our home is Western Australia, in the heart of the country’s biggest mining state.

How long has Bost Group been in business?

Bost Group was founded in 2012 — over a decade of supplying equipment to underground hard-rock mining operations. Our team’s combined hands-on mining experience runs even deeper, with 120+ years of underground experience directly informing how our refuge chambers are designed.

Where are Bost Group products assembled and tested?

Most final assembly, fit-out and quality testing takes place at our Welshpool, Western Australia facility. We work with trusted international manufacturers and suppliers to source components — bringing global manufacturing capability home to be assembled and tested locally by a team who understand what the equipment needs to do on-site.

How is Bost Group different from larger equipment suppliers or bundled-procurement providers?

We’re a small, privately owned team by choice. That means you deal directly with the people who understand your equipment and your project — a project partner, not a rotating account manager — and decisions about materials and build quality are made for the equipment’s usage life, not a quarterly result.

What is Bost Group’s typical lead time for a custom bucket, tray, or refuelling station?

We stock a wide range of buckets in our Welshpool facility but if you require something more specific of a truck tub these are typically only made to order meaning a minimum lead time of 12 weeks.

Does Bost Group offer rental or rent-to-purchase options?

Yes, Bost Group can offer rental or rent to purchase on all of our products. Rental is particularly useful if you need extra capacity on site for development work.

Should I lease or purchase Bost Group equipment outright?

The right option depends on how long you’ll need the equipment and how you’d prefer to allocate your capital.

Rental is often the best choice when:

You need additional equipment for a short-term project or mine development.

You’re bringing extra personnel onto site and need additional refuge capacity.

Capital budgets are unavailable or approval is delayed.

Purchasing is generally the better option for long-term or permanent requirements where the equipment will be in continuous use, as it provides the lowest total cost of ownership over its working life.

Does Bost Group offer training on how to operate or service equipment?

Yes — we offer service and operation training for our refuge chambers, either via an on-site visit from our team, or more in-depth training at our production facility in Welshpool, Western Australia.

How long does it take to build a Bost Group refuge chamber?

Bost Group refuge chambers take approximately 12 weeks this is to build the shell, fit it out electrically and do all required testing. Refuge chambers are customisable products, so timing varies with configuration and current order volume.

How long can a Bost Group refuge chamber sustain occupants if cut off from mains power and air?

Every Bost Group refuge chamber — portable and stationary — is built to a minimum of 36 hours of isolated (stand-alone) operation, in line with the Western Australian Guidelines for Refuge Chambers in Metalliferous Mines. Extended battery backup duration is also available as an option.

What compliance standards do Bost Group refuge chambers meet?

Every Bost Group refuge chamber is built to comply with the Western Australian Guidelines for Refuge Chambers in Metalliferous Mines, and meet all applicable Australian standards as a baseline across the range.

What’s the difference between Bost Group’s portable and stationary refuge chambers?

Portable chambers come in 4 or 6 person capacity, don’t require a permanent power connection, and are built for confined, changeable spaces like development headings.

Stationary chambers range from 8 to 30 person capacity, for fixed installation points and higher-occupancy requirements.

Both share the same simplicity-first design and 36-hour minimum stand-alone rating.

What technology manages air quality inside a Bost Group refuge chamber?

Every chamber is fitted with our BAC unit (Bost Atmospheric Controller) — a combined scrubber and converter — plus Fixed Digital Gas Monitoring System for CO, CO2 and O2, developed with Encore Monitoring, which removes the need for manual gas sampling tubes entirely.

Does Bost Group service refuge chambers it didn’t originally manufacture?

Yes, Bost Group has a team of service technicians all with mine spec vehicles ready to come to site and service any make of refuge chamber.

What loader and truck models are Bost Group’s buckets and tubs built to fit?

Our underground bucket and tray range covers all Cat, Sandvik and Epiroc equipment, we can also build any other make and models your site might require.

Does Bost Group only build underground equipment, or surface mining gear as well?

Underground is our core focus and expertise, but we also manufacture any type of bucket from large surface mining buckets to small excavator buckets.

Do Bost Group buckets come fitted with ground engaging tools (GET)?

Bost Group buckets are engineered and sold independently of any single GET brand. We work with all GET suppliers and lip systems, and stock a range of buckets with the most popular GET lip systems already fitted.

While Bost Group does not currently produce its own GET system, we can customise buckets with any GET system you require.

Can Bost Group buckets and trays be customised to fit my existing fleet?

Yes — every Bost Group bucket and tray can be built to order against your specific loader or truck model, payload requirements, and site conditions. Our standard specification tables are a reference point, not a fixed catalogue.

Can a Bost Group truck tub replace my existing OEM tub without modification?

Yes — our underground truck tubs are designed specifically to save you the need to repair or re-line your existing OEM tubs, offering a direct, cost-effective alternative rather than an ongoing patch-and-repair cycle.
